The snowfinch flies across the diagonal edge of a melting snowbank. Download the landscape embroidery pattern for the dark water cut, five foreground stones and extended pale feather fields on an oatmeal ground recommendation.

How many foreground stones are included?

Five principal stones sit below the flight. Their separate outlines and different scale are part of the setting, alongside the smaller gravel and low lichen.

Before tracing the pattern

Artwork canvas: 300 x 232 mm, landscape, including the open background areas. Print the separate A3 transfer at Actual Size / 100% and check the 50 mm control bar. Guide previews are reduced. These are canvas dimensions, not a finished hoop, cushion or bag size. The Stitch Guide itself uses US Letter pages.

A closer look at the motif

Snowfinch Along the Meltwater Cut gives a pale bird a setting of snow, stone and moving water. Follow the unequal wing directions, keep the airborne toes open, and use short current lights within the darker meltwater field.
