The scene in detail
Snow Bunting at the Wind Scoured Drift works with a restrained winter palette and a specific ground shape. Keep the gravel window on intact cloth, turn the snow shading with the drift, and finish the fine grass tips around the bird.
Canvas dimensions and printing
- 300 x 232 mm landscape artwork canvas, including open background
- A3 transfer PDF: print at Actual Size / 100% and verify the 50 mm control bar
- The Stitch Guide has US Letter pages; its previews are reduced
- Canvas measurements do not specify the size of a finished object
Is the darker ground area an unstitched hole?
It is an angular gravel field within the snowy setting. The surrounding grass, scoured seams and open areas belong to the linework, without requiring a hole in the fabric.
Cloth and thread choices
Suggested fabric: blue-grey linen. The palette proposes 13 DMC shades for stranded cotton. Supply your own needles, hoop or frame and a transfer method suitable for the cloth. Test the transfer and physical thread colours on a small swatch first.
Stitch direction and shading
The guide maps 12 working regions with local stitch direction, strand count and DMC colour recipes. Use the region key and recommended sequence to follow the overlaps and changes in shading. Mapped techniques include fine split, discreet couch tacks, divided short satin.
