Five acorns sit within an uneven oak canopy above and below the jay. The digital hand embroidery pattern gives the bird's barred blue wing a different rhythm from the four lobed leaves around it.

The scene in detail
Jay Beneath the Fallen Acorn Arc pairs an autumn canopy with one concentrated blue wing marking. Work the oak structure in its overlap order, then keep the barred panel within the jay's folded feather groups.
Cloth and thread choices
Suggested fabric: deep ink-blue linen. The palette proposes 18 DMC shades for stranded cotton. Supply your own needles, hoop or frame and a transfer method suitable for the cloth. Test the transfer and physical thread colours on a small swatch first.
How is the oak arranged around the jay?
The acorns appear above and below the bird, and the branch forms an uneven canopy. Four lobed leaves keep the plant structure specific rather than symmetrical.
Stitch direction and shading
The guide maps 14 working regions with local stitch direction, strand count and DMC colour recipes. Use the region key and recommended sequence to follow the overlaps and changes in shading. Mapped techniques include stem and short straight, lobe-specific long-and-short, curved long-and-short.
Canvas dimensions and printing
Artwork canvas: 300 x 232 mm, landscape, including the open background areas. Print the separate A3 transfer at Actual Size / 100% and check the 50 mm control bar. Guide previews are reduced. These are canvas dimensions, not a finished hoop, cushion or bag size. The Stitch Guide itself uses US Letter pages.
