Clover Grid is an embroidery pattern of eight separate plants, complete with pink flower heads, trifoliate leaves and fine roots. Dotted columns and tiny stars divide the specimens. Each plant can be worked as a small study within the sheet; the gaps between them keep the arrangement readable when all eight are finished.

About the download

An 18-page English PDF guide accompanies this hand embroidery pattern. It includes a stitch map, motif recipes, working order and technique notes.

Working the design

Keep the roots finer than the foliage and the divider marks smaller than the flower heads; their job is to organise the specimens. The suggested palette contains 11 DMC shades, with colour swatches, codes and strand guidance.

Files included

  • 18-page English Stitch Guide PDF with stitch map, motif recipes, working order and technique notes
  • Suggested DMC palette with visible swatches, codes and strand guidance
  • A3 actual-size transfer PDF
  • Four 10 × 15 cm A4 quadrants inside the guide
  • White-background and transparent line art PNGs at 300 dpi
  • SVG linework
  • Embroidery reference image
  • 16-page Hand Embroidery Stitch Sampler – Essential Needlework Handbook (30 essential stitches)

Size and printing

The full design field is 20 × 30 cm (7.87 × 11.81 in), including the unstitched areas in the drawing. This measures the layout, not each motif or the finished textile. Print at 100% / Actual Size with Fit to Page switched off. Check the 5 × 5 cm control square, then use the registration marks to join the four A4 quadrants.

Fabric and preparation

Suggested experience: intermediate. Use medium-weight natural linen or linen-cotton in pale oatmeal, flax or warm ivory. You will also need embroidery cotton, suitable needles, a hoop or frame and a transfer tool suited to your fabric. Leave extra cloth for holding, mounting or sewing. Test stitches and thread colours on a scrap first; screen colours and dye lots vary.

Using the files

This is a digital download. Fabric, thread, tools and finished embroidery are not supplied. Follow the transfer drawing for placement. Lifestyle images show possible uses; garment sewing templates are not included. The SVG is linework, not a PES or DST machine embroidery file.

Licence

Personal, non-commercial use. Do not share, resell or redistribute the files or artwork. Selling finished pieces requires separate written permission from Stitchesly.
