Is the seed halo a closed wreath?
Attached seed heads and falling seeds form a loose surrounding structure. The halo stays open, allowing the two different wing directions to remain visible through it.
Bird and setting
Barn Owl Through the Seed Snow Halo combines broad pale feather work with fine radial stems. Shape the unequal facial and wing fields, then place the falling seeds as individual accents around the owl's complete silhouette.
Materials to prepare
Suggested fabric: deep plum linen. The palette proposes 12 DMC shades for stranded cotton. Supply your own needles, hoop or frame and a transfer method suitable for the cloth. Test the transfer and physical thread colours on a small swatch first.
