One razorbill faces left and the other the opposite way from a different ledge. Their digital embroidery pattern uses separate breast, bill and foot areas against angular basalt on a suggested oatmeal ground.
Does the download show one razorbill or a pair?
It shows two birds. They share a restrained palette but occupy different ledges and face opposite directions, so their bodies and foot groups should remain individually readable.
A closer look at the motif
Razorbill at the Basalt Seam pairs two seabirds across an uneven rock setting. Build the ledges in short shaded runs, then distinguish each bird's folded feather groups and fine pale bill band against the warmer linen reserve.
Linen and colour planning
Suggested fabric: warm oatmeal linen. The palette proposes 14 DMC shades for stranded cotton. Supply your own needles, hoop or frame and a transfer method suitable for the cloth. Test the transfer and physical thread colours on a small swatch first.
The stitch recipes
The guide maps 12 working regions with local stitch direction, strand count and DMC colour recipes. Use the region key and recommended sequence to follow the overlaps and changes in shading. Mapped techniques include directional long-and-short, fine split stitch, horizontal broken long-and-short.
