A harebell hand embroidery pattern with pale blue bells on slender stems and a small mossy meadow below. Most of the stitching sits at the left, so the right-hand linen stays visible. Flower folds, fine grasses and the denser ground are worked separately; the difference between them is what keeps the tall stems light.

About the download

An 18-page English PDF guide accompanies this hand embroidery pattern. It includes a stitch map, motif recipes, working order and technique notes.

Working the design

Work the flower folds lightly and keep the meadow texture close to the ground; equal density everywhere would lose the upward movement. The suggested palette contains 12 DMC shades, with colour swatches, codes and strand guidance.

Files included

  • 18-page English Stitch Guide PDF with stitch map, motif recipes, working order and technique notes
  • Suggested DMC palette with visible swatches, codes and strand guidance
  • A3 actual-size transfer PDF
  • Four 10 × 15 cm A4 quadrants inside the guide
  • White-background and transparent line art PNGs at 300 dpi
  • SVG linework
  • Embroidery reference image
  • 16-page Hand Embroidery Stitch Sampler – Essential Needlework Handbook (30 essential stitches)

Size and printing

The full design field is 20 × 30 cm (7.87 × 11.81 in), including the unstitched areas in the drawing. This measures the layout, not each motif or the finished textile. Print at 100% / Actual Size with Fit to Page switched off. Check the 5 × 5 cm control square, then use the registration marks to join the four A4 quadrants.

Fabric and preparation

Suggested experience: intermediate. Use medium-weight natural linen or linen-cotton in pale oatmeal, warm grey or soft flax. You will also need embroidery cotton, suitable needles, a hoop or frame and a transfer tool suited to your fabric. Leave extra cloth for holding, mounting or sewing. Test stitches and thread colours on a scrap first; screen colours and dye lots vary.

Using the files

This is a digital download. Fabric, thread, tools and finished embroidery are not supplied. Follow the transfer drawing for placement. Lifestyle images show possible uses; garment sewing templates are not included. The SVG is linework, not a PES or DST machine embroidery file.

Licence

Personal, non-commercial use. Do not share, resell or redistribute the files or artwork. Selling finished pieces requires separate written permission from Stitchesly.

About the images

The design and illustrative images were developed with AI assistance. They show the intended appearance and possible uses, rather than a photographed stitched sample.
